This pre-buy inspection transpired when a previous customer sold a Citation II. Van Nuys airport is a small tight-knit community with colleagues sharing a long history of doing business. The buyer came to Robert to guide him through a pre-buy inspection process with the seller's approval.

This pre-buy was custom tailored for the Citation II. The buyer was planning to put this aircraft on a charter certificate; part 135.  This was noted to technicians as they went through the aircraft.  For the pre-buy, the technicians went through and did engines power assurance checks, airframe corrosion inspections, along with functional and visual inspections of all aircraft systems.  When Dale did a records review, he discovered that the interior of the aircraft needed to be documented for fire prevention. In order for an aircraft to be approved to operate under a charter certificate, this documentation had to occur prior to releasing the aircraft for service. Robert used his relationships with close vendors to make sure this occurred at a reasonable price within the time frame of the inspection process.

This transaction came to a successful conclusion due in part to Robert balancing the desires of the seller and the buyer.

Two inspections occurring, one on the Citation II, the other on a Challenger 600.
