A long-standing maintenance customer had made the decision to sell the Challengers 600. The buyer and the seller both agreed to have Robert do the pre-purchase inspection at Van Nuys. The customer had used Robert's maintenance services for close to 20 years back when this customer owned had a Westwind aircraft.  One responsibility included providing both parties with the costs of performing a pre-buy.  Robert had to explain that the airworthy squawks are the responsibility of the seller while discretionary squawks are paid by the buyer. This was to be a business-to-business transaction, with the aircraft to continue operating under a part 91 certificate.

Jet Endeavour Trading put together a list akin to a Level III Pre-purchase inspection, making sure the technicians did a thorough inspection of the airframe, engines, and avionics. The buyer also requested routine maintenance to be accomplished, which in the pre-buy included a 2400/300 Hour and 12 month inspection. While performing the 300 Hour Engine inspections, technicians discovered a specific discrepancy on Engine #1 which would force the removal of the engine. Since the Challenger is on MSP Gold, the removal and installation of a rental engine occurred at Van Nuys with no additional cost to either the seller or the buyer. Overall the Challenger was delivered as requested, adjusting the schedule for the engine removal and installation.

The seller was very satisfied with how the whole transaction went through.  The buyer was apparently just as happy, because on a business trip back to VNY, they chose to use Robert's maintenance facility for further service on the aircraft.
